Keeshonds @ Eastkees
I have to admit that I fell into dog showing more or less by accident.
When I saw my first Keeshond puppy my immediate reaction was "It's beautiful, it's different and I want one". Luckily, for me, the breeder still had a puppy that required a home. Although it wasn't a condition of the resulting sale I was asked, if I would be interested in showing him. Until then, although I had heard of Crufts, I had not thought, or imagined, I could show a dog. I have to admit I did take some convincing, but in hindsight that decision to not only attend, but enter, my first show with my newly acquired Keeshond puppy changed my life.
Since that first show I have regularly entered both local and national dog shows at which I have enjoyed a fair amount of success. In 1994 I was granted, by the Kennel Club, the use of the affix EASTKEES after which, in 1997, I bred my first litter, from Foxifayre Diamond Girl at Eastkees, the origin of my kennel.

Since 1990, I have been a member of the Keeshond Club whose objective is "..... to promote the breeding of Keeshonden to the type and standard for the breed as adopted by the Kennel Club, and to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by exhibiting and guaranteeing classes at shows held under Kennel Club rules".
This Web site has been created to enable Eastkees, in a small way, to support these objectives and to say thank you for all the pleasure and enjoyment I have received from showing Keeshonds.
